Sonic Powered Inc. has announced a new entry in their Airport Hero series, I am an Air Traffic Controller: AIRPORT HERO Centrair 20th Anniversary Edition. This edition includes new locations, difficulty modes, challenges, planes, and more.
First appearance in the Airport Hero series - Chubu Centrair International Airport Centrair! Take on the challenge of air traffic control under the limited conditions of a single runway!
The skill of an air traffic controller is put to the test in whether they can manage a large number of aircraft taking off and landing on a single runway !
The chain of command between air traffic controllers and aircraft is handled one-to-one via automatic traffic control (ATC). Air traffic controllers must grasp the relative positions of all aircraft , plan and instruct which routes to take and in what order they will take off and land. At Centrair, which has only one runway, the key is to time takeoffs and landings efficiently, which requires delicate air traffic control techniques, just like threading a needle .
The series’ most difficult stage, “ MASTER ,” is now available! Overcome numerous challenges and become a true airport hero!
In addition to regular operations, various events at Centrair pose challenges for air traffic controllers. Aircraft conducting touch-and-go flight training touch down on the runway once and then take off. This action is repeated multiple times in succession, so the timing of takeoffs and landings by other aircraft must be coordinated. Also, in bad weather stages, landings are temporarily restricted by strong tailwinds, so it is important to decide which side of the runway to use for takeoffs and landings. Because it is so difficult, the sense of accomplishment when you finally overcome it after trying it many times is immeasurable!
New Features
Turning and waiting (holding)
A new “ turn and wait “ control command has been added, which allows you to control speed differences in the air !
Air traffic controllers can now make arriving aircraft circle around a specific point on the flight route and wait there . For example, while a slow-cruising propeller plane is waiting in a circle , a following high-speed jet airliner can be allowed to overtake and change the landing order, expanding the range of air traffic control strategies! However, aircraft will continue to circle and wait until they are instructed to continue their approach , so it is strictly forbidden to leave them unattended!
